Seattle Church of Christ

Scott and Lynn Green

The church in Seattle has been growing steadily this year and a special highlight has been the conversion of its first University of Washington football player, Andrew Hudson. Not only that, but another football player is studying the Bible as well. The church continues to focus on strengthening this region of churches through its Ministry and Missions (M&M) program which provides a week long school of mission training to college students. This program has trained and sent interns all over the Northwest and helped spark campus ministries around the Northwest. This summer the program will last one week and will take place in August.

Vancouver, Canada

Brian and Sarah Felushko

The campus ministry in Vancouver is experiencing revival with the recent conversion of two freshmen college students. The campus ministry is now up to five and gaining momentum. The church is committed to building a strong and vibrant campus ministry by providing full time support for its campus interns, Barish and Ana Golland. The church has sacrificed $110,000 toward its goal of $160,000. The Felushkos are also excited about their summer challenge for teens entitled “Search for Truth.” Each potential teen disciple is challenged to make a decision about who Jesus is by the end of the summer.

Five Valleys Church, Missoula, Montana, Jake and Nancy Jensen

The church has been growing with an attendance of over 100 on Sundays and around 20 visitors per week. The growth has been led by a dynamic campus ministry with 22 disciples. The church hired its first campus minister, Tyler Grimm. The church’s growth has led to a new location closer to campus and the center of town. The “Over 50’s” group has converted several parents of disciples and the singles ministry is taking shape under the leadership of four fired up singles leaders. The church will be going on a combined camping trip this summer to Yellowstone with the Boise Church.

Treasure Valley Church, Boise, Idaho, Dave and Robin Weidner.

The Weidners just finished their first 6 months in Boise and have established 3 men’s purity groups, 2 women’s support groups and 4 Secure in Heart book groups that meet weekly and draw visitors from around the community. Dave is also starting a summer internship called EDGE (Every Disciple Giving Everything). This will provide direct training to two full time summer interns as well as many non-paid members. Dave and Robin are busy leading a world-wide purity ministry with speaking trips to Croatia and Hungary. They are currently working on a series of classes for teens that will be presented at the summer youth camp. Not only that, they will also be speaking on this topic at Estes Park, CO during the ICMC this summer.

Spokane Christian Church Jermaine and Stefanie Peacock.

The church in Spokane has been baptizing a person every two weeks for the past year and one half. They have had converted 36 people in just 15 months. With that rapid growth, the church is outgrowing its current building, children’s classes and has stretched its current leadership. The church recently had a leadership retreat in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State with a goal to plant a church there in the fall of 2012. The retreat was a success and many members of the original Spokane team are eager to once again step out on faith and plant a new church. The Peacocks ask for your prayers as they are spearheading the 2011 Northwest Youth Camp in June, preparing for a mission send out and dealing with various challenges arising from the growth of the church. Their new address is 4415 S Hogan Street, Spokane, WA, 99223.

Rogue Valley Church, Ashland, Oregon, Rob and Pam Skinner

The church started the year with a goal to grow from 25 to 35 members this year. By May 31st it already had its 11th baptism and grew to 35 members with average Sunday attendance of 60+! The church had 9 baptisms total last year. God has sent support from around the region. He sent John Biggerstaff from Spokane and Tyler Bedell from the Boise church who transferred to Southern Oregon University. These brothers, along with a number of ambitious young leaders, stepped up and have doubled the campus ministry in the past 6 months! Speaking visits from Tui and Kiera Vae’ena from Hawaii, Jermaine Peacock from Spokane, John and Barri Lusk from Denver and Dat and Natalie Do from LA have made a huge difference in propelling the church forward.
